Welcome Message

Welcome Message

You are cordially invited to the 9th Busan International Port Conference (BIPC) hosted by Busan Port Authority.

Ever since its first event in 2013, the BIPC has served as a meaningful platform for analyzing the latest trends in global shipping port and logistics. Not only that, future directions were also discussed in the face of digital transition of port logistics and growth of sustainable ports, considering the movement towards eco-friendly energy utilization, digitalization of almost everything, and technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data.

Clearly, the COVID-19 pandemic is posing unprecedented challenges for all of us this year, increasing uncertainties and negatively impacting our politics, economy, society, culture, and many other areas.

Against the backdrop, BPA is committed to finding hope from uncertainty, rather than anxiety towards future, through the 9th BIPC. Under the theme of "Life, Resilience and New Beginning". it will also take a new hybrid format, combining online and offline (with 50 or less offline participants and many more online participants via simultaneous live streaming).

Life goes on despite all the difficulties, and we can leap forward by sharing our time of recovery with each other.

The BIPC will not cease to serve as a knowledge-sharing platform this year. With such a determination, we are pleased to invite you to the 9th Busan International Port Conference.

We kindly ask for your interest and participation in the conference.

Kang, Joon-suk

CEO/President, Busan Port Authority
